As most are aware, the
last 18 months have been a challenge for us all, with the restaurant
& hospitality industry, in particular, being dramatically
affected. While Bill, I, and The Old Hotel have weathered the initial
storm of the coronavirus pandemic, the long-term affects of a
drastically changed socio-economic environment has led to far greater
challenges- much more than we ever could have imagined when we
started this adventure 16 years ago. What might not be as obvious, is
that this socio-economic change has been simmering under the surface
for years and we believe the current pandemic allowed this change to
boil over into the situation we all find ourselves in. This new
socio-economic landscape, coupled with personal health issues &
family concerns have made Bill & I realize that our business will
never be the same, again, & that we are at a crossroads with our
lives & our livelihood.
At this time, we have
chosen to end our Summer Season extremely early. Effective Monday,
July 19th, 2021 we will close The Old Hotel
Restaurant until, at least, the Fall.
We are happy to have
this time to re-brand The Old Hotel. Although the new incarnation
will be different from the old, we believe that the results will be
exciting! Our promise will always be that we will continue to pour
our hearts into everything we do; providing quality food &
excellent service. During our hiatus, we will be re-evaluating our
business model by; researching new & alternative ideas,
implementing creative techniques, & attempting to cultivate a
dynamic & professional team. Additionally, we will be assessing &
managing the challenging health issues that have arisen as well as
prioritizing & tackling family concerns.
In the interim, we
will be attending the Saturday Twin Bridges Farmer's Market for the
remainder of the season- providing fresh, house-made pastries,
breads, & assorted specialties as well as planning for some
“pop-up” food features. Please continue to check our website &
Facebook page for weekly items & information. *
Bill & I are truly
grateful to our families, friends, & communities of South West
Montana & beyond for the support we have received over the last
16 years. This endeavor has provided us the opportunity to practice
our art in a community that we love. Mahalo Nui Loa.
We look forward to being
with you, again, soon. A Hui Hou!
& Bill Kinoshita
